2 oz Bourbon or Rye

1 oz Averna amaro

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Brandied Cherry, to garnish (preferably Luxardo brand)


Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice 20-30 seconds. Strain into a chilled Nick and Nora style or coupe glass and garnish with a cherry.

1 oz Rye (Sazerac preferred)

1 oz VSOP Cognac

1 oz sweet vermouth

1/4 oz Benedictine

1 dash Angostura bitters

1 dash Peychaud's bitters


Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice 20 seconds, strain into a chilled rocks glass over a fresh large format ice cube. No garnish.

2 oz Bacon Fat-Washed Bourbon*

1/4 oz Maple Syrup

2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Orange Twist for Garnish


Stir all ingredients (minus the garnish) briefly in your mixing glass with ice until just chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh large format ice and garnish with your orange twist. Be sure to squeeze that orange twist over the cocktail first to express those orange oils over the top before you drop it in!


*Bacon Fat-Washed Bourbon: Cook up a pound of good old salty bacon. Pour the fat into a mason jar (no need to strain) and add about 2-3 times as much bourbon. Swirl it around to get it really mixed in and let it sit on the counter at least 12 hours (swirling occasionally to encourage the infusion.) After at least 12 hours place the jar into the freezer for at least 2 hours or until the bacon fat has solidified on the top. Poke a hole through the fat layer to drain the bourbon into another container and then fine strain through a coffee filter for final bottling. Store in a clean jar in a cool dark place or in the refrigerator.

1.5 oz Bourbon (Four Roses recommended)

.75 oz Lime Juice

.5 oz Orgeat

2 oz Pineapple Juice

5 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Garnish: Mint Bouquet, or just put it in some cute tiki glasses! ;)


Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker until just chilled. Strain into a tiki or rocks glass over fresh (pebble) ice. Add ice to top off and garnish with mint.
